Monsoon Malabar coffee beans are especially delicious as an espresso, where its light acidity and rich body works wonders in the espresso extraction process. The distinctive 'aged' spicyness is smooth an velvety, with a long and satifying finsh.

Malabar Coffee Beans - Additional Information

In the Indian port town of Malabar, the coffee growers store their green coffee harvest in large warehouses where it waits for the monsoon rains. When the rains arrive, the warehouse doors are opened, and the moist monsoon air circulates around the coffee beans, making them swell and take on a slight yellow colouring.

Coffee Beans - Monsoon Malabar

Monsoon (Monsooned) Malabar is the most famous of the 'monsooned' coffee beans, and is much sought after throughout the world.

This ageing process adds a lot of spice and complexity to the bean, which is what gives the coffee its strikingly original flavour characteristics.

We source only the highest quality monsooned coffee beans from our speciality coffee importers. We slow-roast our Malabar carefully to ensure that the flavour prolfile is optimum for every batch.

Coffee Roasters Log - 15th September 2008

Popular as ever, our monsoon malabar coffee beans have become a real permanent feature on our daily roasting list. Some of our restaurants and cafes are starting to offer this one on its own, plus some of our Malabar based blends are becoming ever more popular.
